The Role
We are currently looking for you to take on the role of GSC Business Planner based out of our CAMI Battery Assembly Plant (CBAP). In this role, you will have the opportunity to positively influence our Organizational Culture by modelling a commitment to GM’s Cultural Behaviors in driving toward and achieving desired business results. You will lead initiatives to reduce the risk of Global Supply Chain (GSC) related safety events, drive Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes within the GSC department, and execute projects related to launch and business metric improvements at CBAP.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Lead EV safe handling initiatives to reduce injury and incident risk at CBAP
Represent PIV (Pedestrian In-Plant Vehicle) Committee at CBAP and implement actions to reduce PIV incident risk
Supervise GSC office team, ensuring business metrics are achieved
Identify and implement continuous improvement actions in GSC operations
Support lean material strategy deployment and project execution at CBAP
Ensure compliance with HQ directed GSC audit requirements
Manage GSC training requirements
Assist in development/execution of Level 2 business plan deployment
Support department operations to achieve objectives in safety, quality, productivity, and cost (SPQRC)
Lead GMS initiatives to drive continuous improvement in office and production operations
Backfill key GSC roles as required
Assist in planning/development of product launch activities
Participate in and lead business projects as required
Engage in audit process of Level 4 business plan
Assist in long term planning of departmental objectives
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Global Supply Chain, Logistics or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain / logistic area
Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
Demonstrates excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with highest level of autonomy and accountability for results
High level of problem solving and issue resolution aptitude
