Job Description

Undergraduate Internship Program Overview- 

  • Summer 2025, June to August, Undergraduate internship, within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends. 

  • 40 hours a week, for the Summer 2025, REMOTE position

  • Meaningful work and project assignments, such as: testing motion control products, etc., in a research lab, and working with controllers- putting electrical and mechanical pieces together, etc.

  • Networking opportunities with peers and executives 

  • Exposure to different divisions of the business

A Day in Your Life at MKS

As a Corporate Trade Compliance Intern for 2025 Summer Intern/Co-op, at MKS Instruments, Inc., you will partner with the Global Trade Compliance team and business unit personnel to support the execution of global trade-related tasks and mitigate compliance risk across the enterprise. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Director, Global Trade Compliance.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • • Assisting with the classification of MKS products

  • • Supporting authorization applications and management

  • • Furthering compliance investigations and audit activities

  • • Contributing to policy and procedure development, and training

  • • Providing transactional business support

  • • Furthering the implementation and improvement of the MKS Global Trade Compliance program


Required Skills:  

  • •Enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree program in Political Science, International Relations, Supply Chain and Logistics, Business, or other relevant major

  • •40 hrs. a week. Spring and Summer 2025

  • •Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.

  • •Some knowledge of technical documentation such as BOM, schematics, and drawings.

  • •Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.

  • •Ability to research and gather information on a global level.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.

The application period for the intern/co-op position is estimated to be through the end of March 2025; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidate
