Agronomy Procurement Specialist
AgState is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist for our Agronomy department!
We are seeking a motivated individual who will be responsible, under the direction of the Director of Product Procurement, for leading the agronomy inventory management at AgState locations to ensure customer product needs are met by partnering with Sales Agronomists, Location Leaders, and Operations personnel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor, evaluate, and perform inventory management at multiple locations and work to ensure that each location has adequate supply to meet needs and operational efficiency.
- Analyze, monitor, and direct seasonal chemical fill efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate product movement between locations and keep accurate records.
- Utilize Soil Map reporting feature to confirm true product needs and run internal reports.
- Coordinate with Accounting to ensure product pricing is current and effectively communicated.
- Assist the Director of Product Procurement by planning, prioritizing, and reporting to ensure accurate purchasing activities.
- Ensure timely and correct communication to notify locations of shipment and potential shortages or interruptions in supplies and work to notify the affected parties.
- Ensure orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts and negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing with suppliers as required.
- Assist the Director of Product Procurement with contract and agreement disputes and assist with resolving discrepancies.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal team members.
- Assist in report generation to forecast future product needs and submit proposals as required.
- Conduct ongoing effective communication with suppliers, vendors, customers, peers, and management.
- Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept within the organization.
- Display an attitude that is focused on improving and serving customers, teammates, and self.
- Support other departments as needed.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of previous bookkeeping, data entry, and/or procurement experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Previous Ag experience is a plus, but not required
Location
- This position can be based out of many of the AgState locations in NW Iowa.
