JELD-WEN is currently seeking an Export Sales Rep to join our growing team.
Summary:
The Export Sales Professional is responsible for prospecting, developing, and maintaining key accounts within a specific region with the sole objective to ensure sales targets established for the region are met. Selling responsibilities involve being closely networked with all of the major architect, design-build, and development firms. Delivering product knowledge to these firms across all communication lines (verbal, written, and electronic) is expected. Dealer selling responsibilities involve the prospecting, qualifying, and enrolling of companies to display and market our product throughout the assigned territory. Assisting and supporting these accounts to effectively meet the established sales targets for the territory involves consistent communication and an active availability to service any of the various needs required to sell product. Working directly with the Export Sales Manager, the Export Sales Professional is required to forecast, manage, and report sales pipeline activity on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. This role is also required to report on all dealer/indirect/trade prospects to the Export Sales Manager and responds as appropriate to all inbound corporate inquiries or requests originating from the assigned territory. Corporate marketing initiatives at times require direct execution at the regional level; the assigned Export Sales Professional is expected to support these tasks as needed.
Once the candidate is familiar with all areas of the export business they will begin interacting with customers in a designated territory and will eventually travel throughout the territory periodically during the year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage quoting & sales activity within assigned territory
- Identify and proactively target leads
- Maintain and build strong business relationships
- Proactively pursue and follow up on sales opportunities and new accounts
- Responsible for expected sales
- Weekly and Monthly sales reporting
- Enrolling small to mid-size companies to market and display product
- Assist with Corporate Marketing initiatives
- Participate in weekly sales meetings
- May have non-exempt (administrative) personnel report to this role
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in outside sales account management
- Experience in door and window/fenestration industry
- Business development and new account acquisition experience
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills utilizing strong listening skills and logical, systematic approach to assimilating and sharing information in all areas
- Operates with high integrity, is productive under pressure, hands-on when needed
- Must be willing and able to train in and learn other aspects of the supply chain and retail sales business, including: the export process and product lines, warehouse processes, shop and receiving department processes, internal computer systems, order entry/processing and purchasing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field
Financial Responsibility and Authority:
- Equipment: Responsible for reasonable care and operation of all office equipment and products such as computer, phones, and copiers/scanners/fax machines.
- Authority: Makes decisions on matters that have a significant financial impact on the business.
- Financial: Failure to handle customers tactfully could result in cancellation and subsequent loss of good will and profit. Some loss is possible, but exercise of somewhat more than ordinary care of customers is expected at all times in order to prevent loss.
- Internal and External Business Contacts: Responsible for maintaining good customer relations. Generally deals with representatives and customers concerning sales matters.
