Customs Brokerage Account Manager & Team Lead

Elizabeth, NJ

$70,000 - $95,000


A large Custom House Broker near the Newark airport area is seeking an individual for an exciting career in logistics/custom house brokerage. This is a great opportunity for someone with customer success and account management experience who's also interested in import, export, and trade.



Responsibilities:



  • Multi-function in international trade, including customer relations, interaction with U.S. Government agencies, and communication with air, sea, and land transportation providers.

  • Review entry documents for accuracy, providing feedback if anything is missing or incomplete.

  • Process and submit entries as required by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and applicable Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).

  • Mentor two assistants.

  • Communicate with CBP and PGAs to ensure the timely release of shipments.

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.

  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications:



  • Preferably, a minimum of 2 years of experience processing customs entries.

  • Basic knowledge of logistics processes.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Previous experience in mentoring or training other employees is advantageous.

  • Strong teamwork skills to effectively serve customers.

  • Excellent communication skills for customer interactions.
