Position Summary


The Auditor will provide technical advice to internal and external customers with regards to HTSUS Classification, CBP Regulations and/or other Regulatory requirements.


 


Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)



  • Auditing completed entries for accuracy, correcting as required according to company policies & procedures

  • Compiling, checking and analyzing CBP & PGA data transmission & documents.

  • Execute Internal Trade Compliance Audit and deliver reporting for Quality Improvement.  This will identify the need for follow up in the form of additional training tools and possible white paper subjects.

  • Attend CBP related Trade Meetings and/or Trade related webinars, take appropriate meeting notes, and communicate notes to appropriate staff.

  • Complete a variety of other duties as assigned


 


Education and Experience



  • High School diploma

  • Customs Broker License – Preferred/Not Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the brokerage industry

  • Extensive knowledge of the HTSUS, CBP Regulations and Regulatory requirements


 


Competencies, Working Skills & Attributes



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer skills required to include Brokerage Operating System, Microsoft Word, Excel

  • Ability to accurately update and maintain large databases

  • Able to work well under time sensitive situations

  • Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and multi task to meet specific deadlines


 


Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements



  • Position requires minimal physical exertion that includes computer processing, fax/copy/can machine, telephone, calculator, etc.

  • Considerable time spent at computer terminal focusing on a monitor could result in eye or back strain
