THE JOB:
It is the responsibility of the Director, Global Sales Travel Industry to manage existing travel agency and tour operator relationships and to prospect and develop new accounts with a goal to maximize revenues and market share for all MGM Resorts International properties. An account base will consist of an assigned region with a blend of Luxury Consortia, Tour Operators, Travel Management Companies and Retail Travel Agency accounts. Account base to be determined by Executive Director. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Develops account relationships which fall within established territory/account base.
- Provides sales, services and coordination of group events on behalf of MGM Resorts International within respective territory/account base.
- Hosts prospective clients visiting to the properties including customer entertainment such as dining in hotel restaurants and accompanying clients to shows.
- Creates awareness and actively sells MGM Resorts International through attendance at trade shows and other industry functions.
- Develops suggestions to maximize revenue streams at MGM Resorts International properties.
- Provides ongoing evaluation and account analysis.
- Maintains close contact with client account base ensuring customer retention.
- Required to meet or exceed established quotas.
- Conducts and escorts site inspections and FAM trips.
- Interacts with all departments of properties to ensure strong communication.
- Active participation in industry associations where appropriate.
- Participate in Company related travel.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in Global Sales
- Thorough knowledge of competitor’s products and pricing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
