About the Role:

The Director of Diplomatic and International Sales promotes and sells to the defined geographic EMEA region vertically. Generates hotel awareness through direct phone sales; direct sales calls, tradeshows and networking groups. Works closely with sales and marketing team, and Global Sales Offices to solicit, sell and confirm business required to meet budgeted sales goals. Candidate should possess the ability to solicit travel. This position requires a high degree of independent judgement and discretion in decision making.

The Opportunity

  • Identify and target customers that will generate business on behalf of hotel but not conflict with WSO efforts.
  • Negotiate, draft, generate and confirm/sign contracts that ensure hotel budget and revenue targets are achieved.
  • Adjust pricing and recommend group concessions as needed to secure business in support of hotel budget targets.
  • Utilize Various Prospecting Resources to solicit and secure business on behalf of hotel.
  • Use company wide programs, sales developments, prospecting projects, WSO customer events and reporting for business development.
  • Create and execute account plans for assigned market territory to ensure maximum revenue and budgeted group targets are achieved.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined.
  • Uncover potential P2P leads on behalf of sister properties and the company.
  • Solicit, confirm and service travel agent, wholesale, negotiate and transient accounts including negotiating rates and confirming contracts that ensure targeted budget achievement.
  • Identify and create target accounts or agencies that will generate business on behalf of hotel but not conflict with WSO efforts.
  • Utilize Travel Industry reports, Hotelligence, Opera business intelligence, Book of Lists, Hoover’s Lists, etc, to solicit and secure business on behalf of hotel.

Experience Required:

  • Luxury Hotel Middle Eastern and European market experience required (minimum of 4 years)
  • Experience in servicing HNW (High Net Worth) individuals in a luxury hotel
  • Sales Experience selling in the following markets:
  • Must have knowledge of EMEA market
  • Must have knowledge of Travel Industry Sales
  • Knowledge of Diplomatic groups an asset
  • Knowledge of Embassy groups an asset
  • Ability to speak and write in Arabic an asset
  • Proven track record of successful sales results
  • Independent worker with ability to be strategic in their role
  • College Degree – 4 years, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel internationally to Europe and Middle East. Travel may be required as much as 30% of the time given the dual-property role of this position, and could be more.
