Position Title: Director, Trade & Distribution
The Director, Trade and Distribution is accountable for managing commercial distribution, commercial supply chain and Trade Affairs for the Esperion product portfolio.
Preferred Location: Remote – US
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
- Manages Commercial Distribution from 3PL to retail partners.
- In collaboration with Supply department, identify 3PL vendors and negotiate agreements. Manage established 3PL relationship.
- Minimize return goods and revise policy as required for returns and recalls.
- As Esperion advances additional products for commercial approval, ensure that all information and agreements are in place with wholesalers to be able to provide commercial supply as soon as possible post launch.
- Proactively work with supply, forecasting, and marketing to ensure that supply is in alignment with commercial demand needs.
- Provide input on packaging and commercial labeling requirements.
- Negotiate agreements with major retail chains, wholesalers, and provide input on HUB strategies.
- Negotiate contracts with Trade accounts including Distribution Service Agreements (DSAs), Service Vendor Agreements, Return Policies, HUB, and Collection companies.
- Oversee and develop insights from Trade Data resources, Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), Gross Sales, and downstream customer data vendors.
- Develop all SOPs related to commercial distribution.
- Work with Accounts Payable and Finance team to ensure all payments are processed in a timely manner.
- In collaboration with supply and legal, establish State Licenses for commercial distribution.
- Support key revenue activities related to year end and holiday orders, wholesaler price increase notifications, and chargeback investigations.

Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical commercial distribution and trade affairs; or equivalent education and experience.
- MBA is a plus
- Prior experience with new product launch
- Experience in a small biotech company is a plus
- Experience and understanding with relevant regulatory and legal policies such as the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs), 340B solutions, etc.
- Strong negotiating and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
