Job Description





Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Export Compliance Analyst to work in our Export Compliance department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off. Remote opportunitites are available for this position. You will report to the manager of Export Compliance.


You will support facilities, operations, research, and programs in the identification and implementation of export control requirements to ensure laboratory compliance with applicable rules.


You will obtain regulatory permissions including export licenses, headquarter reviews, and consent orders. Additionally, you will maintain knowledge of all existing and proposed changes in international, federal and DOE export requirements including EAR, ITAR, NRC, DOE, and DOS embargoes. You will assess export compliance risk and develop corrective actions, provide export control training and establish Laboratory policy for export compliance and document in policy, procedures, or other appropriate communications. You will work with DOE HQ in export compliance issues and policy.


Responsibilities Include:



  • Help execute research and development of the Idaho National Laboratory.

  • Evaluate technology, technical data, and software using U.S. export control requirements. Find and address export compliance risks.

  • Interpret regulations, activity reviews, review for restricted parties, information release evaluations, resolution of potential or actual compliance issues, identification of required permits or licenses, and gathering and reporting of compliance data.

  • Apply export controls to INL programs, facilities, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA), Strategic Partnership Projects (SPP), Intellectual Property Reviews, security plans, foreign travel requests, external releases of information, shipping, procurement, excess property, and other areas.

  • Educate and train INL employees on export compliance.



Minimum Requirements: 



  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or other technical degree.

  • Level 2: Two (2) years of relevant experience required.

  • Level 3: Five (5) years of relevant experience required.

  • Relevant experience determined by level in a relevant technical field. Disciplines of interest include chemistry, biology, electronics, nuclear, materials science, foreign policy, or compliance.

  •  This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. 


Job Information: 



  • The pay range for this position is: Level 2 ($75,804 - $155,496) / Level 3 ($91,008 - $186,588). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
