HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Purpose Statement:  The Export Compliance Program Lead will work with various teams to support the implementation of the Plexus global trade strategy, including enhancing export compliance controls, developing trade compliance policies and procedures, and facilitating governance through metrics, audits, training and risk assessments. This role will support generation of long-term scalable & sustainable compliance strategies, support customer solutions creation, and support investigations regarding potential compliance violations.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Act as Plexus subject matter expert on export trade regulations to provide trade solutions to the Sites, Regions, and customers by balancing regulatory expertise with operational execution. Provide escalation support to resolve issues and develop customer solutions that balance compliance and execution.  

  • Build trusted partnerships across the Sites, Regions, and Business and within the trade industry to support execution and enhancement of the Global Trade strategy to mitigate trade risks for Plexus and our customers. 

  • Develop controls to ensure compliant and efficient storage and movement of technical data.

  • Draft and update trade-related standard operating procedures, work instructions, process mapping, and other governance documents, as well as conduct relevant develop and deliver enterprise-wide training on Global Trade topics.

  • Assist with technology, hardware, and software commodity jurisdictions, Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) determinations and export licensing.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.

  • Advanced Computer Skills.

  • Advanced Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills.

  • Advanced Verbal and Written Communication Skills.

  • Advanced Google Workspace or MS Office Skills Specifically (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access).

  • General office equipment and materials.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Professional office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and other office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing the importance of good posture and ergonomic workplace arrangements.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Less than 40%

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the annual compensation range for this position is stated below. The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Benefits offered for this position include health care; retirement benefits; paid days off, including sick time, and vacation time; parental leave; volunteer time, basic life insurance; Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts; and may be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses. Salary Range:$95,300.00 - $171,400.00
