Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Export Compliance Specialist to provide comprehensive security support onsite in Arlington, Virginia. This role supports the facilitation of export-related policy activities for a high-profile program, including preparing and coordinating presentations for committee reviews, interacting with interagency partners such as the Department of State for export licenses, and interpreting and maintaining export-related documentation.
Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in export-related policy facilitation, including preparing and coordinating presentations for committee reviews (e.g., TSC, EXCOM) and decision preparation.
- Interact with interagency partners, including the Department of State, to secure export licenses and maintain compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with various agencies to support policy activities and update transition efforts from acquisition to operational use, maintaining security and mitigating risks.
- Coordinate integration and tactics issues with military service counterparts (USN, USAF, USMC) to ensure consistent Department of Defense guidance.
- Work with the international community to interpret and maintain program security for mission data file development, reprogramming labs, training, exercises, and displays.
- Provide cross-coordination support with stakeholders and follow up on program decisions and activities.
- Assess compliance of air systems within National Disclosure Policy (NDP) guidelines, ensuring export certification for international customers.
- Serve as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including military services, contractors, foreign governments, and high-level decision-making offices.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Current Secret Clearance Required.
- Location: Must be able to work onsite in Arlington, VA
Position Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in a related field.
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (an additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a Master’s degree).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) licensing applications and review processes.
- In-depth understanding of aircraft programs and systems.
- Background in Air Combat Command (ACC) and/or Acquisition.
- Familiarity with Air Staff/Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) organizations, processes, and policies.
- Strong knowledge of Service and OSD documentation, including the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBS) process and life-cycle management for military acquisition programs.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Available to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand
- Excellent briefing and technical writing skills
- Impeccable customer service skills
- Read, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
- Expert experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe tools and systems including Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Complete a security screening interview.
- The employee must maintain clearance and eligibility throughout employment.
