SUMMARY: This role supports the Compliance team in the administration of an effective Trade Compliance program that ensures VSE Aviation’s conformance with U.S. export laws and internal policy requirements. Primarily responsible for developing a full knowledge and understanding of U.S. export regulations in order to support and promote VSE Aviation’s export compliance program.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a knowledge and understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) relating to the control of certain exports, reexports, transshipments and other activities through self-study, related courses and seminars, and regular review of trade publications.
- Supporting daily Export Activities including Sales Order reviews (Restricted Party Screening, Red Flags, Embargo/Sensitive Country reviews, Dual-Use items, missing export data, etc.)
- Proactively pursuing missing export data to facilitate timely shipments to the customer.
- Work closely with the Compliance Manager to identify and resolve Red Flags.
- Prepare export license applications.
- Become proficient in the preparation of export documents such as AES Filings, Commercial Invoices, and Shipper’s Letter of Instructions.
- Use and keep abreast of on-line tools including SNAP-R, ACE and AES Direct.
- Assist in maintaining updated and accurate Schedule B and ECCN classifications for all part numbers in Quantum.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2-3+ years of professional work experience
- U.S. Citizenship is required
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- An understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Familiarity with international shipping documents such as commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, and export licenses; including consignee information, INCOTERMS, harmonized tariff codes, Schedule B and nomenclature, country of origin, customs value, export classification, and license data.
