Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the movement of products/equipment/materials out of the country in accordance with Company policy and procedure and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process. Will be responsible for developing a workflow to ensure all export shipments are executed and duties are tendered timely. This person will ensure that the operation meets service commitments, revenue, and profitability goals as outlined by company policy and budgetary requirements. Ensures all customs rules and regulations are followed. Is responsible for operational oversight of the ocean/air export function ensuring that client satisfaction is successfully achieved.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Provides guidance to indirect air carrier (IAC) operational colleagues and will support compliance manager with maintenance of the IAC Standard Security Program (IACSSP).

  • Assists colleagues and customers with regulatory guidance on export laws and regulations. These regulations include but are not limited to:


    • Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

    • Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR)

    • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

    • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

    • US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)


  • Promptly and accurately resolves customer shipment problems.

  • Provides advice to customers regarding overseas shipping, and certain commodities’ requirements including licensed commodities.

  • Supervises and trains employees and assigns work to others.

  • Stays up-to-date on U.S. export laws and regulation changes, as well as Deringer policies and procedures.

  • Timely and effective support to branch personnel.

  • Reviews shipping documents and routing details with a view towards appropriate export regulations (such as export licenses, customs declarations, commercial invoices, dangerous goods declarations and letters of credit)

  • May perform other tasks as assigned including: facilitating insurance claims, filing reports, and periodically reviewing export shipments.

  • Manages/liaises with warehousing and distribution activities affected by export regulations and changes.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Coordinates with sales personnel on compliance with export laws and regulations to ensure customer expectations are achieved and maintained.

  • Reviews and analyzes reports on financial and export data elements for accuracy and compliance.


Travel:


No travel is required for this position


Pay Range:


The wage range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000; a final offer will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to geography, licensing, certifications, and years of experience in the field.


Education and Experience:


High school diploma or equivalent with 7-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An IAC (Indirect Air Carrier) and/or a CES (Certified Export Specialist) certification are preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


7-10 years of extensive knowledge of export laws and regulations is required. 2 years of training or supervisory experience is preferred.
