Our Government Regulation team focuses on helping clients seize essential advantages by working alongside IT and Business leaders solving their toughest problems while capturing their greatest opportunities. We work with some of the world’s largest and most complex organizations, departments, and agencies to understand their unique business issues and opportunities in an ever changing environment. We help create sustainable change by driving innovation, unlocking data possibilities, navigating risk and regulatory complexity, optimising contracting processes, and aligning costs with business strategy to create a competitive advantage. Our team helps our clients form strategic alliances to reduce research and development costs by implementing and monitoring contracts and licenses initiatives. You’ll help our clients with managing their risk exposure and increasing growth through co-promotion and co-development agreements, license distribution and pricing agreements, royalty forensics, and dispute resolution and process improvement analysis.

A career in our Export Controls and Trade Sanctions advisory practice will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients manage their national security regulatory compliance obligations. Our team supports companies by developing insightful compliance program planning and implementation strategies targeted to reduce the risk of noncompliance with regulatory requirements and expectations, as well as to enhance alignment with leading practices.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:Demonstrates in-depth abilities and/or a proven record in the following areas:
- Serving as a subject matter specialist in a client-facing capacity;
- Designing and conducting assessments on the effectiveness of various aspects of export controls and trade sanctions compliance program related processes, procedures, controls, and technologies;
- Overseeing and reviewing the development of export controls and trade sanctions processes and controls, including policies, procedures, and manuals;
- Supporting on demand consulting services related to export controls and trade sanctions inquiries from our clients;
- Overseeing managed services teams to help clients address a variety of regulatory challenges in areas like restricted party screening and export classification;
- Working with other internal specialized teams across subject matter areas and across global locations to deliver on client requests;
- Supporting and driving business development activities;
- Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of US export controls and trade sanctions regulatory requirements, frameworks, expectations (e.g., Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions, Committee on Foreign Investment in US (CFIUS)); and,
- Possessing knowledge of the international trade environment and complexities.
Demonstrates in-depth experience as a team leader and/or a proven record of success identifying and addressing client needs, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement;
- Communicating value propositions; and managing resource requirements, project workflow, and project economics;
- Analyzing client internal control practices and evaluating client compliance with export controls and trade sanctions regulatory requirements;
- Supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation;
- Coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback; and,
- Developing new relationships, making introductions to sell new projects/services, and doing so with a "One Firm" inclusive service mindset.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of automation and digitization in a business environment including but not limited to:
- Innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions; and,
- Utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements.

The salary range for this position is: $130,000 - $256,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
