DescriptionPosition Purpose: Export coordinator is responsible for the international movement of embryos and semen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients in the international movement of their embryos and semen:
- Develop and groom relationships and lines of communication with state and federal veterinarians and other regulatory officials to ensure company compliance with interstate and international regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with bull studs, breed associations, freight forwarders, and other ET companies to ensure trust and teamwork occurs on shared embryo and semen shipments.
- Maintain familiarity with numerous interstate and international regulations.
- Implement a system of tracking embryo and semen shipping orders that are incoming, processing, outgoing, and completed.
- Monitor and track export dedicated shipper tank inventory.
- Handles semen and embryos in a safe manner so as not to compromise cell viability.
- Maintain organization in the shipping and receiving area.
- Coordinate health testing to qualify embryos at multiple different sites.
- Monitors export regulations in all applicable countries to maintain compliance company-wide.
- Maintain relationships with other ET centers and Bull Studs and coordinate joint shipments with each.
- Tracks export numbers company-wide and performs data entry such as collection forms, embryo/semen information, and other documentation as required by USDA inspectors and other auditors.
- Implements a system to organize the process of USDA inspections company-wide and assists veterinarians during the inspection process.
- Assists Animal Regulatory Agent in the preparation of interstate health papers, data entry and other functions.
- May assist embryologists in receiving incoming embryo shipments.
- Maintains a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.
- Follows Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Capability to lift 60 lb. canisters and packages.
Primarily an office environment.
Ability to read fine print on semen and embryos straws and canes.
Other skills/experience:
Experience in embryology preferred.
Familiarity/background in export and veterinary regulatory environment preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Detail-oriented – high level of accuracy.
Computer / data entry experience.
