Primary Purpose:

The Export Logistics Coordinator role is responsible for ensuring effective sales order management, vendor procurement and follow-up, export logistics coordination, and export documentation and regulatory reporting. He/she will serve as the single point of contact for sales and customers to provide a consistent, positive customer experiences. This role will be responsible for initial order entry, facilitation of order changes and order fulfillment and sourcing of material from vendors. Additionally, he/she will coordinate with logistics providers to export product timely and prepare accurate export documentation. In the role, you will be empowered to make decisions on behalf of company in alignment with Univar Solutions' strategy, guiding principles and customer satisfaction. Additionally, this individual will lead resolution of service issues that directly impact customer order fulfillment and assist in earning “Customers for Life” through the establishment of positive customer relationships and satisfaction.  

 


Key Deliverables:

Receives and processes customer purchase orders --



  • Promptly enters orders received from customers or sales

  • Confirms operating margin meets established criteria

  • Checks & verifies customer credit terms

  • Verifies & confirms customer orders and delivery expectations


 


Processes vendor purchase orders --



  • Orders products from selected vendors based on details provided in orders

  • Tracks orders with vendors to ensure timely shipment and advises of any delays.

  • Sends contracts (prepared by sales) to overseas vendors as applicable.

  • Coordinates logistics (inland, ocean, air freight) from vendor to warehouse/direct


 


Prepares export documentation and regulatory reporting --



  • Issues invoices, shipper’s letter of instructions, packing lists, certificate of origin and IMO.

  • Advises customer of shipping details and document courier packages.

  • Works with management to resolve any shipping or documentation issues.

  • Submits any DEA, TSCA 12(b), or Export License approval requests and reporting. 


 


Builds and sustains long-term customers, vendors and service provider partnerships --



  • Creates mutually beneficial relationships with customers through establishment of rapport coupled with responsiveness to customer needs (return messages, timely follow-through).

  • Maintains up-to-date information on customers (contacts, products, requirements)

  • Fulfills customer expectations with realistic commitments


 


Education/Experience/Training:



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. A mix of experience and education will be considered.

  • Business experience, with preference for up to 3+ years in global / international trade operations, including responsibility for import and/or export for North America locations. Experience in customer, freight forwarding, customs brokerage and export trading. 

  • Chemical industry experience preferred

  • Prior experience with ITAR/EAR a plus

  • Certifications in; NCBFAA Certifications (CCS, CES, MES), IATA, among others, is a plus

  • Bilingual proficiency preferred

  • Demonstrated indirect leadership skills

  • Strong analytical skills & organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Strong problem solving and time management skills

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English 

  • Bilingual in Spanish, Korean or Mandarin and English

  • Ability to analyze information – orders, customers, vendors, pricing, and credit terms

  • Experienced in use of computer, MS office applications & SAP or equivalent ERP system, e-learning development a plus
