Position Summary


The Field Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the job site logistics process within the commercial and industrial settings to include the management of deliveries to and from job sites and data entry of the tool inventory system.  Also, this position could oversee a team of up to 10 field logistics professionals and managing site logistics operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective operations and customer service.




  • Coaches and trains onsite logistics teams and instills best practices regarding onsite logistics and productivity.




  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with suppliers.




  • Able to establish priorities for a small crew across multiple areas of operations.




  • Works as a leader within the company’s supply chain to ensure all established practices are followed.




  • Provide material handling support to assigned areas of the assigned job site.




  • Assists projects with the execution of a project specific site logistics plan.




  • Able to coordinate with off-site construction, warehousing, and outside suppliers to ensure that all material and tooling requirements for a given project are met.




  • Supports remobilization of crews, allowing construction operation crews to continue providing value-added install.




  • Develops systems and procedures to allow for the highest level of productivity and safest execution of tasks.




  • Able to understand, plan and execute on-site requirements through meeting attendance, available drawings and collaboration with other trades and onsite leadership.




  • Coordinates with project leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement through various means to include off-site construction usage, value added services and onsite logistics.




  • Manages logistics key performance indicators and reports these to appropriate leaders.




  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of logistics processes and Lean techniques.




Other Duties and Responsibilities




  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.




Education and Experience




  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.




  • 8+ years of Warehouse, Supply Chain, or Logistics experience




  • Experience in construction or a related field.




Travel Requirements




  • Demonstrate a willingness to travel from 0% - 100% of the time to various locations across the U.S. in support of jobsite logistic operations.




Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities




  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing tools and general construction materials.




  • Must have a valid driver’s license.




  • Must have reliable transportation.




  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.




  • Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate employees, with strong decision-making, problem solving and strategic planning abilities.




  • Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.




  • Great interpersonal skills – build trust with others and implement process improvement initiatives.




  • Read and interpret instructional manuals, worksite directions, and written instructions.




  • Analyze tool and material requests for preparation of delivery schedule.




  • Understanding of warehouse software and technology

May work inside or outside. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, in all-weather elements such as rain, heat, cold and snow. This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switchgear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.

  1. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead. 




  2. Lift 51 pounds, routinely. Constantly move about on the feet. 




  3. Climb ladders of all types. 




  4. Complete full day assignments involving overhead work. 




  5. Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.




  6. Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.




  7. Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 




  8. Possess good hearing, normal or corrected. 




  9. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times. 




  10. Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours. In order to get a project completed on time, this position is often required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts. 




  11. Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
