Universal City:

At our Universal City office interns will have access to the NBCUCommutes program, which provides fully subsidized transit passes to full-time lower lot employees, good for unlimited rides on all Metro bus and rail, such as the Metro Red Line.

Summer 2025 Recruitment Timeline:  

November 4 – December 6: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume) 

Mid November – Late December: First round video interviews

Job Description

Summer 2025 Internship Program:

  • Applications Close: December 6th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!
  • Program Dates: June 2 – August 8, 2025
  • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. 
  • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

NBCUniversal’s Filmed Entertainment Global Distribution is responsible for the licensing and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in the U.S., Canada and in over 200 territories internationally. NBCUniversal’s content portfolio includes a vast and diverse library of more than 6,500 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, Universal Television Alternative Studio, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, and more, as well as locally produced content from around the world. Global Distribution is a division of Comcast NBCUniversal.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

  • Digital Distribution: Intern will analyze sales and consumer data to discover insights and provide recommendations on product, promotion, and marketing strategies, and review partner platforms and develop insights on trends and business opportunities
  • Information Systems Services: Intern will work with data through the front-end of applications as directed and prepare data for programmatic updating working interactively with our Technology teams
  • International Digital Media: Intern will support the team responsible for the sales and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in over 200 territories across the globe
  • Sales Planning: Intern will support the various teams in the department by reviewing deal terms, running availability reports and various data sets. Once deals are close the team manages long term deals with product notices. Liaising with clients and Sales team with all aspects of managing TV output deals for several designated territories.
  • Sales Administration: Intern will log all incoming agreements & amendments, prepare and distribute internal sales reports, and assist in processing orders for content  

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.  

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Coachable/eager to learn, positive attitude.
  • Works independently, willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement (e.g., suggestions and insights as a fresh set of eyes).
  • Strong excel skills (including prior work experience with excel models, pivot tables, and formulas).

The hourly rate for student interns is $17.50
