Global Banking & Markets - FICC and Equities Operations provides client onboarding support, post-trade transaction services and post-trade portfolio services for the Markets business. Our Client Coverage Group manages key client relationships to enhance the client experience front to back. We support the FICC and Equities businesses to develop and deliver new products, services, and markets.


 



YOUR IMPACT


Client Onboarding – Policy & Quality Analytics (PQA) is looking for a self-starter to join our Salt Lake City team. The PQA team manages the control framework and oversight of a broad spectrum of firm policies that impact client onboarding teams.  PQA works closely with Legal, Compliance, Operations and Technology teams to ensure successful implementation of policy and control oversight to meet regulatory obligations.  The team is heavily involved in the Audit process and partners with various Client Onboarding (COB) teams, Financial Crime Compliance and Internal Audit to conduct quality assurance testing and to help facilitate audit inspections.


The Policy & Quality Analytics role provides an opportunity for a dynamic and risk-aware individual to take part in shaping and ensuring compliance with Client Onboarding’s control framework related to a broad spectrum of firm policies, including but not limited to Know-Your-Client, Financial Regulatory Reform, and Customer Due Diligence.  The role is part of a global team responsible for overseeing aspects of policy implementation, quality assurance and audit facilitation for COB. The successful candidate will be able to exercise independent judgment, discretion and decision-making.


 


OUR IMPACT


 


The Client Onboarding (COB) team within Global Banking and Markets supports account opening, maintenance and client data quality management for institutional clients. The work COB performs is critical and must adhere to strict regulatory and policy requirements as this function has material impact on downstream functions (trade processing, regulatory and tax reporting, Anti-Money Laundering monitoring among others) across a wide range of business areas and products. COB partners with key stakeholders (Business & Compliance) to onboard new clients with a focus on efficiency, control, and excellent client service. Policy & Quality Analytics serves as a key oversight function within Client Onboarding.


 


HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL


In this role, you will be expected to use critical thinking to balance tight control requirements with the service demands of our internal clients. Key responsibilities being:



  • Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure adherence to firm policies and regulations

  • Support on-going projects and initiatives including new regulatory requirements and new business markets

  • Interact with a global team across different regions

  • Partner with Compliance and Legal to implement new and updated policies to satisfy regulatory obligations

  • Regularly interact with Compliance, Legal and Internal Audit in response to internal and external regulatory inquiries and examinations

  • Collaborate with line teams to ensure sound and consistent practices across the division

  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions for regional teams on new and updated policy guidance

  • Participate and contribute to both firm and industry wide strategic initiatives

  • Review and analyse data, generate metrics and help with ad hoc projects leveraging data analytics 


 


 


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR


 


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • 3+ years of prior work experience in a relevant field

  • Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through

  • Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and respond to tight deadlines and changing requirements     

  • Ability to adapt quickly to a variety of industries and businesses

  • Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments

  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders 

  • Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information

  • Integrity, ethical standards and sound judgment

  • Critical thinking / thought leadership / ability to suggest improvements and “hunt” for risk

  • Service orientation, sense of urgency, ability to manage internal clients’ expectations, follow- through and professionalism


 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Prior work experience in Client Onboarding, KYC, CIP, Customer Due Diligence, AML Compliance, Quality Assurance or other risk assessment function

  • Ability to understand large and complex regulations and rule sets

  • Previous experience in writing policies and procedures (digitized)

  • Understanding of Risk – operational, reputational, client confidentiality etc

  • Resourcefulness, strong judgment and problem solving skills

  • Previous experience with project management or business analysis
