Position Summary:
Based in the US, and reporting to Director, Global Trade Compliance, the Trade Compliance Analyst is a support role in the Trade Compliance organization. Responsibilities include support of trade compliance activities set by Trade Compliance Leadership and Trade Compliance Management and to support improved compliance across the organization while delivering customer service. The Trade Compliance Analyst supports compliance results through analysis of trade data, knowledge or trade regulations and collaboration with functional leaders and teams across the company.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Universal Accountabilities:
- Leads with oversight trade compliance activities and ensures administrative requirements and data are met.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Perform global harmonized tariff system (HTS/HS) classification of finished goods and raw materials, and equipment transfers.
- Ensure updates are made and maintained in all applicable systems.
- Support the solicitation of raw materials and qualification of finished goods for various Free Trade Agreements leveraging our Global Trade Management system.
- Support country of origin (COO) determinations for finished goods and raw materials; ensure COO updates are made and maintained in all applicable systems.
- Resolve data quality concerns by investigating data issues, extracting examples of potential data quality deficiencies, and working with business owners to resolve them.
- Identify process inefficiencies, compliance risk or redundant work and develop automated or semi-automated solutions to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
- May also perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of trade compliance or related experience with a foundational understanding of U.S customs regulations.
- Experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)/Harmonized System (HS) classifications
- Experience with Free Trade Agreement solicitation and qualification
- Experience with Country-of-Origin determination (preferred)
- Strong aptitude for data analysis, capable of interacting with diverse data sets to extract and share insights.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work proactively.
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
