Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time International Import Export Compliance Manager to work in our Canonsburg, PA office. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The International Import Export Compliance Manager will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, attention to detail, a good communicator, and able to work independently. The candidate will possess experience within the supply chain, logistics, and transportation fields.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Transportation, Business, Science, Operations, or a related field
- Five (5) or more years of experience within the supply chain, logistics, or transportation field. International Logistics Experience
Job Description:
- Coordinates and expedites all shipments to and from the company. This includes both domestic and international (imports and exports).
- Makes sure the company complies with import/export regulations about product classifications and any other documentation requirements such as NAFTA certificates and Shipper's Export Declarations.
- Organize and maintain the proper files as required by regulations.
- Responsible for monitoring rates and charges with third-party freight carriers and negotiating reduced fees, as well as coordinating and scheduling all pick-ups and deliveries using third-party freight carriers and freight forwarders.
- Verifies all incoming shipments for accuracy and is responsible for properly recording received goods information.
- Manage International Transportation and Logistics processes necessary to support US region international business requirements.
- Responsible for major, highly complex domestic and/or international projects, and for ensuring compliance with Aquatech’s established quality standards and business requirements.
- Negotiate agreements to obtain favorable terms and conditions and coordinate the design and implementation of programs to recognize and encourage optimum performance.
- Control or coordinate project budgets and support other groups involved in transportation activities.
- Promote and initiate measures to improve customer satisfaction and the organization's operations by such means as the introduction of the latest strategies and technologies.
- The ideal candidate will be able to purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, instruments, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems promptly.
- Generate bid request documents, review quotations when received, prepare bid tabulation spreadsheets, and negotiate orders within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Expedite all orders on assigned projects to obtain and maintain product deliveries and documentation submittals.
- Contacts vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality.
- File data and compile records and reports for multiple orders on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interface with all departments to resolve problems and issues.
- Assist other Buyers and Logistics by completing and following up on order acknowledgments, document submittals, product delivery, and invoices.
- Creating/editing documents and spreadsheets.
Skill Requirements:
Ability to perform computer applications using MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and SAP.
Able to do Harmonized schedule classification
Capable of handling Export licenses directly
Preferred Custom broker
Customs Broker license under dept of Homeland Security/customs and Border Patrol
Duties/tariff/classification knowledge
Commercial and trade laws
Vat recovery/Taxation knowledge (overseas)
