This role requires weekly, onsite collaboration at Columbia Sportswear's headquarters in Portland, Oregon.

ABOUT THE POSITION   

 

The international team is looking for an International Marketing Manager to be the lead contact for International Distributors in the APAC region, ensuring the Columbia brands global marketing strategies are understood, relevant and implemented consistently across the APAC distributor regions.  

 

In this marketing generalist role, you will provide strategic marketing and retail direction for Columbia through continuous partnership with Global, Regional and International Distributor cross-functional teams. Here you’ll focus on full funnel strategies, including building brand awareness and driving brand equity though a mix of online and offline marketing methods with local relevancy.   

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE   

  • Be the regional and brand expert, advocating with global partners and providing insights into distributor marketing plans, opportunities, investments, and provide brand and marketing direction ensuring alignment in region 

  • Partner with Columbia IDR and Global Marketing teams to develop strategies to successfully launch and grow Columbia in distributor APAC markets 

  • Drive process and support retail store development with distributor and global retail teams to ensure brand experience is upheld and meets local needs 

  • Advise on retail and marketing activations for distributor markets, working closely with IDR cross functional teams on alignment with business and consumer targets, addressing challenges and identifying opportunities 

  • Collaborate with Global Columbia Marketing teams to understand brand campaign strategies and local relevancy, protecting brand equity and ensuring execution excellence in APAC distributor regions 

  • Align regional digital and social media activations and strategies based on brand guidelines, leveraging local influencers to authenticate and capture consumers, and build brand awareness 

  • Ensure the communication guidelines and seasonal strategies are implemented in the distributor markets through effective and targeted advertising, Public Relations, promotions, and Cooperative activities 

  • Establish seasonal marketing calendars, track marketing KPIs and evaluate performance of campaigns, activations and promotions, providing recommendations and setting objectives for respective regional growth   

 

YOU ARE   

  • Entrepreneurial and enterprise minded, driving brand and marketing results 

  • Able to conduct interpersonal interactions with internal Columbia and external distributor teams both over the computer, phone and in face-to-face situations, operate independently and with discretion, and work effectively under pressure 

  • An adept collaborator with interpersonal and communication skills, confidence to approve, push back and amend content to ensure brand alignment 

  • Motivated and enthusiastic while balancing the demands of the market 

  • A multitasking extraordinaire, proficient in project management balancing multiple projects at a time with high attention to detail, organization and prioritization 

 

YOU HAVE   

  • 5-8 years’ experience in online and/or offline marketing, brand management, international marketing, or region-level marketing executions 

  • Experience working with international regions; multilingual is a plus 

  • Proven experience communicating corporate marketing strategy to cross-functional and external partners 

  • Demonstrated analytical ability to turn consumer, marketing and retail insight into action 

  • The ability to make and facilitate weekly evening calls and travel internationally approximately two or more times per year
