Job Description



Meet Boston is seeking a dynamic International Sales Manager to contribute to sales objectives by identifying and booking new and repeat group business and promote the Greater Boston area as a meeting destination to the international market.


This role will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies aimed at attracting international groups and securing business from global markets. This individual will cultivate and maintain relationships with international corporate clients, meeting planners, and other key stakeholders to grow our international customer base to drive group business into Boston hotels. 


Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy targeting international markets. 
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for group bookings, conferences, and large events which can be held at Meet Boston partner hotels and businesses.
  • Focusing on soliciting new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing customers to drive group business into Boston hotels.
  • Meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals as set forth by Meet Boston’s leadership. 
  • Maintaining active and accurate account information in CRM.
  • Attending tradeshows to gain exposure and drive business into Boston area hotels.
  • Attending industry and Meet Boston events to further promote the destination and assist with the implementation of department programs including familiarization tours, sales missions, direct mail campaigns, etc. 
  • Developing, planning and executing sales missions to key international feeder markets with hotel sales partners or through individual sales calls.
  • Coordinating & participating in annual sales mission in appropriate international markets to make sales calls and presentations that will result in additional business for greater Boston.
  • Coordinating and executing site inspections.
  • Assisting with training and supervision of coordinators and interns as needed.
  • Performing any additional duties as may be assigned by the Director of Sales or SVP, Sales and Services

Job Type:

  • The International Sales Manager is a full-time, exempt position.
  • Hybrid work schedule – 3 days in office / 2 days remote; hybrid schedule is subject to change in the future.
  • The position could require evening and weekend work with up to 20% travel. 

Requirements

  • College graduate, with minimum 5 years hospitality industry experience required 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with a focus on the international market in the hotel or DMO
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational/multi-tasking skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important. 
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building relationships with international clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office 365 and various applications and CRM’s like Simpleview preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of Boston is required.
