Job Description:
As an International Shipping Coordinator with BW Converting Solutions, you would play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating international and domestic shipments while ensuring compliance with regulations. You will interact directly with customers, handle documentation, and problem-solve shipment issues. This fast-paced role requires effective collaboration with the shipping team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage documentation for international and domestic shipments, ensuring compliance with Commodity Codes and Countries of Origin requirements.
• Coordinate full truckload and international shipments, including interacting directly with customers to arrange carriers and address specific shipping instructions.
• Problem-solve issues, such as shipments stuck in customs, and provide solutions in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with internal traffic procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
• Authorize payment of freight invoices after reconciling them with provided quotes and rates.
• Initiate and monitor damaged freight claims through to settlement, ensuring resolution.
• Negotiate freight rates and determine shipping costs for customer billing, as well as request quotes for shipping methods.
• Coordinate emergency shipments, including arranging Next Flight Outs (NFOs), and work closely with the Parts Sales Team to manage shipping needs.
• Maintain and organize traffic files, and make direct contact with customers to provide shipment details and prepare necessary packing slips.
• Other duties as assigned
Experience and Education Requirements:
• High school diploma (Required)
• Associate’s degree in business or logistics a (A plus)
• 2+ years of experience
• Customer facing logistics experience
• Knowledge of export regulations, international laws and exporting procedures required
• Willing to become certified in Hazmat handling or already certified
• Bilingual a plus
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
