Position Summary:

Working under the direction of the President and General Manager, the International Trade and Environmental Compliance Manager is responsible for Isoclima’s international import/export compliance. This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to regulations related to DFARS, SAM, US Department of Defense, US Department of State, and the US Department of Commerce. The manager will collaborate closely with teams in Europe and North America to maintain compliance with ITAR requirements.

In addition, the International Trade and Environmental Compliance Manager is vital for eliminating environmental risks, ensuring continuous environmental compliance, and preventing business disruptions caused by environmental hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to DFARS, SAM, and the US Department of Defense, Department of State, and Department of Commerce.
  • Provide advice and support on international trade matters, including export/import controls, customs regulations, and trade sanctions.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in international trade regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to trade compliance policies and procedures.
  • Support the management of international trade projects and initiatives.
  • Lead internal training sessions to improve knowledge of industry standards.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize compliance-based risks, communicating potential impacts to company leadership.
  • Use risk assessment reports to drive targeted monitoring and auditing efforts, ensuring risks are mitigated.
  • Develop, implement, and provide training on compliance-related procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to drive consistency in compliance programs.
  • Work with Operations, Client Support, and external partners to monitor and enforce standards and regulations.
  • Perform department audits to maintain compliance and stay updated with industry regulations.
  • Ensure execution of audit plan documentation with consistency and governance.
  • Support the company’s environmental requirements and deliverables.
  • Align with industry best practices in environment and sustainability throughout the region.
  • Review and provide oversight for Environmental Management Plans, mitigation plans, engineering designs, and technical submissions.
  • Conduct compliance site walks, reviews, inspections, and internal audits as needed.
  • Provide advice on environmental design solutions and ensure sustainability issues are embedded in processes and procedures.
  • Manage environmental consultants and provide internal and external reporting of environmental requirements.
  • Drive a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
  • Manage current environmental and sustainability practices and procedures.
  • Influence improvement initiatives for best-in-class performance.
  • Assist management with environmental projects as needed.

Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred .
  • A minimum of two (2) year’s experience in Importing/exporting, Customs, and Supply Chain Management, with substantial training in Import/export and Customs regulations and practices
  • Understanding of ITAR Compliance and Regulations.
  • Understanding of Environmental Compliance Regulations in the Manufacturing Industry.
  • Excellent negotiating skills in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Cross-functional thinking, understanding business issues, and defining business parameters.
  • Hands-on, flexible mindset and eagerness to take up challenges.
  • Ability to drive results and take accountability.
  • Persuasive, able to build positive relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Physical Demands:
