We are actively seeking an Irrigation Technician to join our Employment Services team. In this role, you will maintain and repair complex irrigation systems on a large military base (Miramar), ensuring that all pipes, valves, clocks and controllers are functioning properly while maintaining safety standards and contract requirements.
The schedule for this position is Mon- Fri 6:30a-3pm and the pay range for this position is $32.30 to $32.30 per hour.
Who you are:
- A task- oriented individual who enjoys troubleshooting and solving problems independently
- Someone with strong technical skills and an eye for maintaining industry standards
A typical day will include:
- Installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems
- Operating equipment such as tractors and backhoes to excavate and install new systems
- Identifying broken or malfunctioning parts and making repairs promptly
- Adjusting watering schedules based on weather and water usage requirements
- Collaborating with the Manager to meet service requirements
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in irrigation (or ability to obtain certification within one year)
- At least 3 years of experience working with commercial irrigation systems
- Strong knowledge of water conservation practices, including CIMIS
- Experience with both electronic and manual watering systems
- Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently, while following safety protocols

- Have experience working with drought – tolerant plants and native species
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Have prior experience supervising a work crew or team
