Position: Licensed Customs Broker Canada
We are seeking candidates in the Mississauga, Ontario area to work from our Mississauga Office. This position will report to the Supervisor of Canadian Freight Forwarding. It will work with the North American Customs team to develop a cohesive cross-border compliance team. This will entail initiating and creating a top-level compliance team. The position will also require the use of information technology tools to automate the importation processes
Position responsibilities:
Applying for Corporate license and bond.
Setting up the customs software and developing training programs for staff.
Review and validate commercial documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin
Facilitate the customs clearance process for shipments, including communication with customs authorities.
Experience in handling high-value cargo
Creating Standard Operating Procedures to ensure customs compliance
Assist clients in optimizing customs duty payments through tariff classification, duty drawbacks, and other available programs
Address and resolve customs-related issues and inquiries
Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
Job Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Customs Broker License issued by the Canada Border Services Agency
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field
Strong computer skills, preferred experience using CANData
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Great attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or similar field
10 years experience in customs brokerage including client contact.
Basic knowledge of simple coding languages
