SAMBAZON is seeking a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator will develop, implement, manage, and optimize third-party logistics (3PL) processes, programs, and project initiatives.  The operational scope of responsibilities will include but not be limited to customer freight, raw materials, and finished goods freight.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for assisting in the 4 key areas of freight:  Production, Customer, International Customer, and International Ocean Freight to the US.
  • The freight process includes ensuring that goods are shipped in the most timely and efficient manner according to customer requirements, planning the transportation route and payload, selecting the mode of transportation, tendering the order for transportation, and tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery.
  • Rerouting freight as needed to meet demands and minimize costs. Assemble load fragments into consolidated loads, thus balancing freight savings, service, and contractual/legal requirements.
  • Communicating fulfillment status and/or issues within the Organization to points including Supply Planning, Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as invoice approvals, routing, tracking, and completing BOLs, Pick-up Sheets, and related documents.
  • Negotiating Claims/Shortages and processing with both the carrier and/or third-party warehouses.
  • Specializing in Costco US and international.  This includes load tenders, consolidation, and working with international freight forwarders specific to Costco.
  • Assisting with implementing, maintaining, and growing a domestic TMS platform launching in 2024.
  • Performing other duties as needed and directed by the reporting manager.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher is preferred
  • Three plus years of experience in logistics, ocean freight, rail, supply chain, or a combination of experience in these preferred areas is preferred.  Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Prior experience with DOT regulations and safety training.
  • Strong knowledge of “Less Than Truck Load” L.T.L.
  • International freight will include basic knowledge of EXPORT SHIPPING documents, including NAFTA, TM-11, Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications to analyze and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, develop and use spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and trends (Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, etc.). Prior experience using, training, and/or developing on a SAP platform is preferred.
