Description

 

SUMMARY:

Assists in the management of all aspects of exports, imports and transfers of technology, products, and/or services including the preparation of all required shipping documents. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands Department of Commerce and Department of State export license and agreement applications in accordance with government guidelines and internal standard work requirements to affect the desired licensing results
  • Verifies export control classification (ECCN), jurisdiction, licensing end use and licensing requirements (if applicable) based upon the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and U.S. Customs Regulations (CBP)
  • Prepares export documentation for eligible parts, systems, and services. Prepares shipping labels and maintains records of shipments both internally and externally. Uses shipping company’s online site to process shipping documents. Verifies information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Participates in audits and internal investigations 
  • Creates commercial invoices
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee daily tasks/responsibilities of Trade Compliance Support Coordinator and Shipping Clerk.  


Requirements

 Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree preferred, or Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience with international trade compliance and procedures
  • Minimum three (3) year of related experience in customer service, sales support or industry experience 
  • Minimum three (3) years of related manufacturing / ERP experience
  • ITAR highly desired

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees
  • Ability to compile reports and general business correspondence
  • Knowledge of Import and Export documentation requirements
  • Knowledge Microsoft Windows-based software (Word, Excel)
  • ERP system knowledge a plus
  • Strong organizational skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation with laboratory and clean room facilities. Work is performed at the corporate office and individual customer sites
  • The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds; over 50 pounds with assistance
  • While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
