The Technical Ceramics: Certech business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities:
The Export Compliance Manager, Certech will be directly responsible and accountable for management of Certech’ s export compliance activities. This position will interface with all levels of the organization and is considered a member of the Certech leadership team. The Export Compliance Manager will work across the business to ensure adherence to requirements and strive to find ways to continuously improve the business. This role reports to the Director, Trade Compliance, Morgan Technical Ceramics.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains and develops site level procedures that implement the requirements of the Morgan Technical Ceramics Trade Compliance Requirements Manual. Integrates trade compliance requirements into critical business processes.
- Reviews and signs off on Transaction Management assessments to ensure compliant export activity across three international locations.
- Is responsible for assigning jurisdiction and classifications to Certech’ s products.
- Manages and maintains Certech’ s classification repository of export information (ECCNs, HTS Codes, Schedule B’s etc.). Supports the export compliance function within the ERP system.
- Provides transactional support on border issues and works as the liaison with freight forwarders/customs brokers.
- Manages and oversees compliance with Certech’ s Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA) and EAR Licensing. Drafts licenses for submission to the State Department, Department of Commerce and the UK licensing authorities.
- Trains and onboards new hires on key trade compliance policy and procedure.
- Oversees USMCA and Country of Origin process for the movement of tooling and ceramic cores between international sites.
- Manages and oversees the process for AES filings in the U.S.
- Is the contact point for Certech U.K. and Certech Mexico sites on questions of trade compliance, government inquiries, government reporting, and all applicable areas of trade controls.
- Performs routine site assessments and audits.
- Supports the business on related trade compliance project work, deploying six sigma/lean tools to ensure efficacy.
