Job Overview

Classification Project Manager, Jurisdiction and Classification Service Center


We are building a world class Global Trade Services (GTS) organization, which includes Operational Service Centers focused on critical trade services. This role is a Manager in the Jurisdiction & Classification Trade Service Center (JCSC), which is responsible for supporting centralized core activities to assess and manage jurisdiction and classification requests for export and import in all locations where TE operates.


 


This role will be responsible for managing incoming classification requests for the Jurisdiction and Classification Service Center (JCSC), delivering timely and accurate determinations of items’ Harmonized Tariff System Classification (HTS), US Export Classification, and to support TE's operations. Key responsibilities related to the JCSC include but are not limited to assessing and determining the jurisdiction and classification of goods, software, technical information, and services. This role reports to the JCSC Execution Lead, joining a team of global trade professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business by providing business solutions for compliance with global trade laws and regulations.

Responsibilities


  • Assess and make determinations of the jurisdiction and classification of Hardware, Software and Technology.

  • Oversee and track JCapp and MyGTS requests, ensuring they are processed efficiently and accurately.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline the classification process by grouping requests for bulk processing, enhancing productivity, and reducing processing time.

  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Align project objectives with organizational goals and ensure stakeholder buy-in.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and change requests. Provide regular updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure adherence to applicable export and import laws, TE policies, and procedures, collaborating with the GTS Governance Team and other Operational Service Center (OSC) areas.

  • Provide a high level of operational services to enable TE to conduct trade compliantly and efficiently while limiting risks.

  • Design and leverage trade data analytics to identify compliance risks, cost-savings opportunities, and other metrics of value and effectiveness.

  • Contribute to strategic projects focused on enhancing the capabilities of TE's jurisdiction and classification systems and other business systems that utilize jurisdiction and classification data to drive efficiencies and cost savings for the company.

Success in the role requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, strategic analysis and planning capabilities involving complex situations, highly developed oral and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams (internal and external) to drive issues and projects to conclusions.   In addition, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:


 



  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management).

  • Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring, with a focus on HTS/ECCN classifications. Experience in Electronics Industry is highly desirable.

  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in communications, industrial, electronics, or transportation industries with a strong focus on HTS/ECCN classifications. Experience in the electronics industry is highly desirable.

COMPENSATION

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $122,960 – $184,440 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
