- 5-10 years of freight forwarding business development/outside sales and leadership experience.
- Possesses a book of business in international ocean, air and/or customs brokerage.

Salary
$80,000 -$100,000 annually based on experience and education level
*PLUS: Uncapped commission, $800 monthly car allowance, company cell phone, laptop, and expense account*

About the Position Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Generate new ocean export business leads by cold calling prospective customers in the assigned territory along with accurate recordkeeping.
- Enter information pertaining to potential leads and current customers in the active CRM, Sugar.
- Engage with current accounts, including providing timely rate updates.
- Develop and implement strategic ocean export sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Direct ocean export sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
- Prepare periodic ocean export sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Average between 20-50 calls per day
- Meet the monthly quotas given by the Regional VP of Sales.
- Communicate with the ocean export operations department to ensure a successful handoff between sales & operations.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable Department with tracking payments from customers.
- Develop a campaign list for Ocean Export Sales Representatives to cold call prospective customers.
- Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control the ocean export sales program.
- Meet with key clients while also assisting other ocean export sales reps with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Develop relationships with customers and continue generating new business.

Itasca Office 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
This position will cover a geographic area surrounding the OEC Group office the candidate has been hired for. The role requires having reliable transportation at the time of hire.
Education & Experience
- Outside sales leadership experience in freight forwarding
- Bachelor’s degree in International Transportation, International Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is a plus
