Position: Ocean Import Agent


Core Responsibilities & Duties:



  • Provide and process rate quotes and service orders for shipments while maintaining customer satisfaction

  • Invoice shipments

  • Compile reports and provide support to other staff members

  • Resolve customer issues by investigating transactions, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management

  • Work in conjunction with sales and management to establish, implement, and maintain client specific needs

  • Ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and local & federal regulations

  • Coordinate the transportation of goods ocean

  • Prepare and process required documentation for International Import and Export Transportation

  • Track and monitor shipments, providing regular status updates to customers

  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent years of experience

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization

  • Complete understanding of export process including but not limited to:

    • AMS, ISF, and Clearance process understanding

    • Import process and timing of each operations function

    • Cargo routing, US rail network for containers, LCL routing


  • Basic to advanced computer skills

  • Ability to establish priorities

  • Previous experience using Cargo Wise

  • Solid understanding of ocean industry, vendors, routing, and system structure

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding import and exports

  • Previous knowledge of cargo operations preferred

  • Multilingual a plus
