Job Summary


This position will be responsible for the procurement of MRO goods, related services, and general supplies as required by the Dixie Chemical Group, including shared service site(s), to ensure continuous supply and support to the facilities.


Summary of Essential Job Functions



  • Handle MRO and general supply purchase orders from dispatch to closure.

  • Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.

  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.

  • Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders about order status, changes, or cancellations.

  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.

  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.

  • Maintain vendor relationships that provide support through general supply ordering.

  • Maintain tracking scorecards for measuring performance against cost reduction and avoidance initiatives.

  • Support procurement department with raw material ordering as needed.

  • Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.

  • Maintains records of vendor Certificate of Insurance (COI) 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Abilities:



  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field.

  • Three to five years’ experience as a procurement specialist, analyst, or coordinator.

  • MRP/ERP system experience (preferably D365 or Dynamix AX)

  • Intermediate knowledge or higher of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

  • Excellent communication and people skills. 

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Works well in collaborative environments and independently.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrate self-motivated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks within a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to influence internal and external customers.

This job may require the following: working inside in a controlled environment and occasionally walking outside in varying weather conditions.  Sitting for extended periods of time and potential for working extended hours. 


Primary environment: May require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, respirator, safety glasses with side shields, hard hat, steel-toed boots and mandatory hearing protection.
