As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process to meet the organization's operational needs. Procurement Specialist will collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement requirements, make demand-driven decisions, and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services. Responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, tracking orders, maintaining inventory levels, and creating a purchasing strategy for special projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  


 



  • Lead efforts to optimize the supply base, generate cost savings and support current and new product development initiatives by ensuring continuous, on time and uninterrupted flow of materials to production facilities.

  • Implement contracts with suppliers for price, quality, delivery, and service. Will find innovative ways to reach common ground for a win/win relationship to develop a global supply base that creates and sustains a competitive advantage. Identifies and actively pursues cost reduction opportunities, driving savings in line with overall business expectations, and ensuring targets for cost reduction are met.

  • Develop and maintain metrics for monitoring supply chain processes and take corrective actions and drive for continuous improvement all throughout the supply chain.

  • Interface with Plant Operations, Finance, and Transportation personnel on material issues, invoicing issues, production planning, and other issues. Function as a team member to share ideas, exchange and report information, and develop solutions to problems to assure on-time delivery to our customers while continuing to improve inventory turns.

  • Maintain ownership of the whole procurement process from component acquisition, administration of contract, on-time deliveries, and quality through invoice payment.

  • Setup - On-boarding new vendors (new supplier forms, credit terms, ERP vendor setup).

  • Manage purchase orders, lead times, and inventory within the ERP system.

  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.

  • As assigned, work with Accounts Payable on invoicing issues and on collections.

  • Perform other duties assigned by management.


Qualifications

Education & Qualification:  


 



  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A bachelor’s degree or a combination of experience and education is preferred in lieu of a degree. 

  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • 2 years of experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP. 


 


Skills & Abilities:


 



  • In-depth knowledge of procurement, both strategically and operationally, with a strong understanding of procurement and strategic sourcing processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong understanding of business processes and requirements.
