Procurement Specialist

Reliable Tire Disposal is the largest independently owned tire recycling company in Central Texas. We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a leader of the Warehouse Team, the Procurement Specialist will work directly with Department Managers to oversee day-to-day operations of warehouse, including inventory, receiving and dispatching orders, stocking of supplies, warehouse organization, safety compliance, and warehouse upkeep. The Procurement Specialist will ensure that equipment and material inventory levels are properly maintained and purchased utilizing best practices for price and quality. The perfect candidate will exhibit work behaviors and values that are aligned with our company success and will be comfortable balancing multiple tasks at once.

Job Responsibilities:

    Regularly compare existing inventory items to alternatives with similar functionality with respect to cost and value added from multiple suppliers.

    Request cost proposals and negotiate prices.

    Build and maintain supplier partnerships.

    Plan purchases by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing usage data and trends.

    Purchase products by verifying specifications and price, while obtaining recommendations from suppliers and others.

    Manage purchases by monitoring receipt of orders placed, escalating, and expediting as necessary.

    Utilize existing systems, technologies, and support to constantly analyze and improve processes.

    Verify receipt of items with warehouse team and resolve any discrepancies with the supplier.

    Authorize payment by forwarding proper documentation to accounts payable.

    Keep proper documentation to support purchasing organization.

    Accomplish purchasing and organization by completing related results as needed along with other duties as assigned.

    Oversee day-to-day operations of warehouse

    Manage inventory, warehouse staff, receiving/stocking/dispatching orders and supplies

    Ensure warehouse organization, upkeep, and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

    The ideal candidate should be able to work in fast paced environment on their feet and must be punctual and dependable.

    Excellent communications skills

    Able to manage time and set priorities

    Ability to work under pressure

    Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. of material

    Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

    Purchasing experience preferred

    A drive for team success

Salary and Schedule:

    Salary depending upon qualifications and experience

    Generally, Monday through Friday with weekend flexibility as needed Benefits:
