Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for receiving, checking and processing customs brokerage documents and using scheduled deadlines to follow-up on shipments.
Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)
· Data entry and the production of entry summaries, invoices, reports and audit files
· Communicate shipping documentation issues to Import Analyst/Release, or Supervisor as appropriate
· Send emails to get documents or to get clarification about documents
· Select proper tariff classification from customer records
· Apply additional tariff classification when stipulated in customer records
· Confirm releases and contact customer when there are issues
· Recognize and apply duty reduction programs such as NAFTA or GSP
· Set up file documents for splitting (entry & bill assemble process)
· Complete daily status reports as necessary
· Support bridge locations and perform all necessary processes of a Release Agent
· Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preference to candidates with customs brokerage experience

Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to focus on computer screen and / or written materials for extended periods of time
- Ability to type at least 45 alphanumeric words per minute with minimal mistakes
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Occasional overtime, holiday and / or weekend work will be required
- Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely and efficient manner
- Must be able to professionally handle situations as they arise
