About this Position:

The Global Distribution (GD) Sr. Fraud and Security Manager is responsible for the coordination of the Fraud and Security related activities within Retirement Plan Services (RPS) and Individual Investor (II) by setting strategic direction, defining best practices, and managing the successful outcomes of fraud and security related matters.  The Sr. Fraud and Security Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the roadmap for security and fraud improvements across multiple departments; identifying and recommending new or enhanced practices and procedures; providing business units with effective support to address client inquiries; building necessary materials to support awareness of security and fraud practices; and continuing and enhancing the governance operating model.  The Sr. Manager provides all business groups within RPS and II with consultative support related to matters of security and fraud.  Provides guidance on the effectiveness of business units’ procedures, processes, initiatives and internal controls and advising management and the business on potential solutions and improvements.  Brings an industry view to discussions based on information gathered through regulatory groups, industry working groups, security and fraud committees, and relevant research.

Role Summary:

  • Partners with internal clients to implement strategic compliance initiatives focused on delivering measurable business results and coordinates compliance activities across multiple departments.

  • Leverages subject matter expertise to identify process improvement opportunities; develops high level plans to close process gaps, and partners with management to implement across the function.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates discussions to evaluate external and internal needs from key stakeholders across organization and develops strategic direction for RPS and II Security and Fraud programs.  Collaboratively develops the strategic direction and roadmap for fraud-related initiatives across RPS, II, Technology, and regularly engages with assurance partners to ensure legal, compliance, insurance, and privacy matters are considered.

  • Manages projects, either directly or indirectly, from a compliance perspective that span months and quarters (sometimes years); manages to budget, manages project leaders in other business units, and is responsible for ensuring a positive outcome. Coordinates internal and external resources to accomplish project goals, manages the project team, and follows up on project deadlines.  Such projects generally meet a regulatory requirement, market expectation, or firmwide objective.

  • Primary champion of the GD Fraud Governance and Oversight Model.  Provides strategic consulting to the senior leaders responsible for business unit compliance.  Present fraud trends and metrics to senior business leaders and assurance partners and recommend solutions that mitigates the risk of fraud and security incidents.

  • Works with the business unit to identify areas of program improvement, problem resolution, and follow-ups as needed.

  • As applicable, provides customized work plans, documentation templates, and detailed compliance risk assessments.

  • Ensures internal clients are compliant with existing fraud-related policies and procedures and provide direction when such policies need to be amended or new policies need to be created.

  • Informs impacted business units about issues; prioritizes risk and exposure areas; helps business units to identify and develop solutions.

  • Serves as primary escalation point within the business for matters related to security and fraud. Responds to client audit requests/due diligence requests/requests for proposals and assists assurance partners with external regulatory reviews on cybersecurity matters.

  • Responsible for representing RPS in client-facing meetings where fraud and cybersecurity programs and controls are being presented.  Independently prepares materials for updates and presentations to clients, associates and senior management as needed.  Independently prepares and delivers information, training and awareness events for associates across RPS to build critical skills and knowledge and, to effectively deliver security and fraud related messages and materials. 

  • Attends industry conferences and working groups to broaden insights into regulatory and compliance requirements. In consultation with legal team, recognizes current industry compliance issues and research and impact on T. Rowe Price and assigned business units. Communicates relevant information to various business units, which requires sound understanding of the business functions of RPS and II.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience

  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and execute by expected deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who must be able to build working relationships and interact with a diverse group of internal and external contacts

  • Strong verbal and written presentational skills; ability to communicate complex concepts and issues clearly, concisely, and demonstrate relevancy

  • Solid business process and analytical skills with high attention to detail and critical thinking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience and knowledge in the banking, financial services, or asset management industry

  • Knowledge of data processing operations within the financial sector and experience implementing risk mitigation controls

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity guidance and proposed regulations
