We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.





Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain


Redwood Materials is looking for a Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain who will be responsible for developing and overseeing Redwood’s sourcing and supplier industrialization strategy. This role sits at the interface between the product engineering team and the industries that supply core technologies, as well as our operations team and integrated supply chain team.


This role will be responsible for building a supply chain for a new high-volume product line from scratch, developing close partnerships with key suppliers, and delivering quality parts on an expedited timeline. Once launched, this role will be responsible for implementing annual plans to reduce material costs, improving vendor quality and lead times, and any other continuous improvement activities required to achieve internal operating and cost efficiencies.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.


Responsibilities will Include:



  • Identification, hiring, and performance management of the supply chain team.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials and components.

  • Develop a nuanced understanding of the power electronics, wire harnessing, and mechanical landscape to identify the best suppliers.

  • Identify and develop annual continuous improvement plans to drive cost reductions support annual operating targets.

  • Implement processes to ensure vendors are meeting contractual agreements.

  • In conjunction with the legal team ensure contract violations are enforced as needed.

  • Partner closely with engineering to understand and project supplier needs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges and implement solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.

  • Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders.

  • Ability to assess and mitigate risks to the business.


Desired Qualifications:



  • 7+ years of experience in progressive procurement/sourcing operations and roles, or equivalent, inclusive of experience leading teams of individual contributors of 5+ and other people managers.

  • Experience in supplier management and operations in Asia and North America.

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers including executive and c-level personnel.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.

  • Ability to work independently and with limited input to develop and change strategies and tactics to meet business needs in a rapid and fast changing start-up environment.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary leadership.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Master’s in Supply Chain, or MBA preferred.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
