Responsibilities

Role Description

Global Trade and Compliance works to ensure Eastman Chemical Company is operating according to applicable regulations by properly managing risks.  The Trade and Regulatory Compliance Analyst will support the Global Trade & Compliance organization with global compliance of trade activities, initiatives, and strategies.



  • The North America Trade and Regulatory Compliance Analyst will work with the Trade and Regulatory Compliance Manager and the Global Trade Compliance Governance Lead to support trade-related processes and takes appropriate measures to maintain the organization’s effective, risk-based trade compliance program.

  •  Exposure to, and understanding of, federal regulations will be required. Examples include but are not limited to Office of Foreign Assets Control, Customs & Border Protection, Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of State Trade Controls, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Drug Enforcement Administration, ITAR, Anti-Boycott, Sanctions Programs and Embargos, and Chemical Weapons Conventions.


 


Role Responsibilities

    The candidate will utilize Eastman’s ERP and other software platforms to provide direct support for NAR program execution activities, including harmonized tariff classification, ECCN classification and administration, and FTZ eligibility, admissions, entries, and shipments. 

    Support Import and Export compliance programs.

    The candidate will conduct impact analyses based on various trade scenarios utilizing Power BI, Cube reports, and other software programs.

    The candidate will assist with development and implementation of risk assessment and audit processes and tools

    The candidate will provide support for both internal and external audits. 

    The candidate will support development and maintenance of policies and procedures for trade-related activities.

    The candidate will be held accountable to all organizational and corporate guiding principles.


Qualifications

Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree required, in Technical or Business field preferred.

    1-3 years relevant experience in trade compliance preferred. 

    Must have critical thinking skills and be detailed oriented

    Excellent analytical skills

    Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation 

    Project management skills

    Strong initiative and follow-through skills.

    Familiarity with SAP 

    Advanced MS Excel skills

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    Adaptable to changing priorities and workloads. 

    PowerBI (preferred).
