Job Description

Mueller’s Atlanta-based Global Trade Compliance Department seeks an experienced Compliance Analyst to assist the department to minimize risk and ensure full compliance with laws and regulations. This important role will lead product classifications for imported and exported SKUs, perform audits of import/export transactions, communicate with customs brokers, country of origin validation, and other problem-solving trade compliance issues. You will drive to improve Mueller’s compliance profile, achieve efficiencies, and harvest savings to add value. Additional trade-related duties may arise as operational opportunities present themselves. This position reports to the Director, Global Trade Compliance and partners with others in the Trade Compliance department as well as other functions of the business including Sales, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain  to consult and advise in all trade matters.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Product classification for import/export items

  • Document and maintain the entry audit process

  • Assist with COO determination

  • Work in ERP system to maintain country of origin and classification compliance

  • Anti-dumping and countervailing tariff analysis

  • Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders and carriers

  • Additional duties assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in International Trade, Supply Chain, or Engineering, and a minimum of seven (7) years of Trade Compliance experience

  • LCB (Licensed Customs Broker), CSS (Certified Customs Specialist), CUESCO (Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer), or similar accreditations highly desired

  • Solid HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule), and ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) experience

  • Skilled in data analytics including data mining and report generation

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft suite skills (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with Oracle JD Edwards, or other ERP systems

  • Ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in the processes of manufacturing, sourcing, sales, and logistics
