International Registries, Inc. (“IRI”) provides administrative and technical support to the statutorily appointed Republic of the Marshall Islands Maritime Administrator and Corporate Registrar (collectively “Administrators”). The Republic of the Marshall Islands Maritime Administrator regulates one of the largest ship registries in the world.
IRI., along with the Maritime Administrator and Corporate Registrar, have adopted an extensive know your customer and due diligence policy (collectively “KYC”), which includes, in part, vetting of all known parties to any transaction in which either IRI or the Administrators are to be involved. This vetting is performed by all regional global IRI offices on an initial basis. Any matches that cannot be resolved at the local level are sent to the Headquarters Legal Department, Trade Group, for further analysis by the team of Trade Evaluator.
The primary responsibilities of a Trade Compliance Evaluator is to process KYC global vettings for seafarers, vessels, corporations, and any associated individuals for both compliance with comprehensive nation-based embargoes and through a database which combines national and international lists of individuals, entities, or vessels of special concern. |
