What You'll Do:

  • Validate United States Customs Information for Imports

  • Identify United States (U.S.) import shipments and review import documents for accuracy and compliance

  • Consolidate and store import documents in an electronic file

  • Determine correct Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) number for products being imported

  • Verify the value of imported goods

  • Communicate import information and instructions to U.S. Customs brokers

  • Process intercompany shipments in the U.S. Customs software program Editrade and OCR

  • Maintain import data in a daily workflow spreadsheet

  • Provide support to Import Coordinators

  • Maintain and acquire import knowledge

  • Requires working some non-standard hours

  • Ensure Export Compliance for all Shipments

  • Classify new products with HTS and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) codes

  • Refer to operating procedures as vital

  • Identify export red flags and work to resolve the issue with internal and external sources

  • Raise suspicious shipments to Export Compliance Manager

  • Maintain and monitor SAP export workflow for global sites

  • Maintain and monitor ECCN and HTS classifications in SAP globally

  • Provide ECCN and HTS classifications for non-product shipments

  • Assist in handling goods controlled for export at global sites

  • Submit, monitor, and manage Automated Export System (AES) approvals for exports

  • Update and maintain sanctioned party lists

  • Maintain export records

What we're looking for:

  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred

  • 3 + years direct experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, demonstrate diplomacy, and otherwise interact well with colleagues and management

  • Highly disciplined with the ability to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while excelling in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work product

  • Strong work ethic and ability to handle and advance multiple projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
