Fabletics is currently looking for a Trade Compliance Manager.

How Do You Fit In?

The Trade Compliance Manager is a subject matter expert in international trade compliance, responsible for the development, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the trade compliance program. 

The Trade Compliance Manager oversees the day-to-day processing of import and export activities under the direction of the Trade Compliance Director

This role reports to the Director, Trade Compliance.

This position is hybrid, located in El Segundo, CA.

What You Will Do:

• Implement, maintain, improve, and monitor the trade compliance program.

• Collaborate and manage global valuation for customs declaration, working closely with internal stakeholders.

• Provide support with tariff engineering or sourcing options to minimize import duties applicable.  

• Develop, maintain, and update internal controls and trade compliance operating procedures.

• Evaluate opportunities to facilitate trade in a cost-effective and compliant manner (e.g., free trade agreements, duty drawback, trade preference programs, etc.)

• Assist in the development of systems, procedures, and work instructions for export shipment processing with a focus on continuous process improvement.

• Ongoing development and management of standardized audit and testing processes needed to identify potential trade compliance issues associated with operational procedures.

• Advise senior level managements about trade compliance aspects and risks of proposed business decisions.  

Review trade compliance internal controls (procedures, work instructions, forms, checklists, and tools) for accuracy and compliance.

• Oversee relationships with customs brokers.

Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Audit, plan documentation, and tasks with the appropriate level of consistency and governance.

• Manage day to day operations: Employee coaching and guiding employee development, achieve classification excellence, support landed costs, and special projects.

• Strong understanding of overall entry filing/release operations and be able to communicate effectively with Customs Brokers, Logistics partners and Customs Agents.

• Strong Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively and persuasively at all levels.

Education and Experience:

• At minimum 5 years of relevant work to include a combination of export/import subject matter expertise and knowledge of international trade compliance industry, as well as program and people managerial experience.

• Prior experience handling internation trade compliance and with deep knowledge of FTA, North America (IMMEX program, CUSMA, FTA) and exposures to global laws and regulations.

• Extensive and deep knowledge of wearing apparel, Footwear and Accessories classifications.

• At least 3 years of supervisory experience, managing a team of 1-3 people.  Ability to lead, guide and train team members.

• Strong knowledge of border crossing, Section 321 shipments and T&E process as well as small courier environment globally. 

• Customs Broker license is a plus.

• BA / BS degree or equivalent required.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $88,300-115,000. The range provided includes the base salary that Fabletics expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate’s related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location.
