Job Description






 

The Trade Compliance Principal will partner with other members of the company and play a leadership role in the strategic development and implementation of company-wide international trade compliance policies and programs.  This position will be primarily responsible for Lennox import/export compliance activities in the U.S.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Supervises the import/export process and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Establishes and enhances processes and procedures at the trade compliance program
  • Oversees and coordinates internal customs audit, keeps track of post entries issues, interacts/coordinates with the external auditor for external audit review, and process with U.S. Customs all the post entry corrections
  • Directs and recommends approval/rejection of marking waiver request 
  • Maintains records in accordance with customs record keeping requirements
  • Establishes, implements and monitors metrics for measuring trade compliance effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Collaborates with customs officials, other government agencies, legal counsel and trade compliance consultants
  • Provides cross functional leadership, and training on trade compliance
  • Classifies and reviews classification of parts, components, and finished products for import and export purposes according to the U.S. and International HTS regulations and procedures,
  • Maintains the classification master database, reviews and improves classification procedures, and checks with the external auditor the following: 1.-classification, 2.-country of origin, 3.-valuation, 4.-preferential and free trade program, and 5.-U.S Customs Broker mistakes, relevant changes, corrections and disclosures
  • Handles and coordinates internal customs reviews, keeping track of post entries issues, interacts/coordinates with the external auditor for external audit review, and processing with the U.S team all the post entry corrections.
  • Collaborates with other departments/teams to integrate import and export compliance within business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, sourcing, accounting, or shipping and receiving
  • Performs research valuation analysis, corrective action planning, and responding to any third-party inquiries

 









Qualifications






 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Finance and 5 years of international or domestic customs experience; or 10 years of international or domestic customs experience
  • U. S. Customs Brokers License
  • Strong USHTS classification background
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make appropriate decisions 
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Strong presentation, and oral/written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player
  • Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills
  • Involvement with U.S. Customs ISA Program
  • Involvement with the U.S. Customs C-TPAT Program
  • SAP and GTS Expertise
  • Experience with U.S. Import and Export Regulations, including ITAR regulations  
  • Strong Project Management experience
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong U.S. Customs Broker working experience in classification and shipments clearance

The compensation range for this position is approximately $98,000 - $129,000 and will be based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and education
