Location: A remote working arrangement is available for this role, however it is preferred to be located near one of our US facilities in the following cities: 


San Antonio, TX, Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, Maryville, TN, Cincinnati, OH and Kansas City, MO.

As a Trade Compliance Specialist you will support the organization’s US trade compliance program by providing daily support for the import and export of products and technology offered by StandardAero.  This position reports directly to the Regional Trade Compliance Manager.


 Specific Accountabilities:



  • Ensures daily transactions and collaborations to comply with U.S. export regulations, licensing and requirements for StandardAero.

  • Perform Restricted Party Screenings (RPS) and customer vetting for exports.

  • Knowledge and experience obtaining Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) and licensing determinations.

  • Support site’s Visitor Control Management and third party screenings for US export controls.

  • Maintains good working relationships and actively cooperates with, internal and external customers, business partners, and applicable government agencies, to execute import and export best practices.

  • Maintains the policies and procedures contained within the Import & Export Compliance Manuals as well as other relative internal compliance publications.

  • Supports the Regional Trade Compliance Manager in providing useful trade metrics.

  • Provides daily support, regulatory interpretation and guidance in HTS/Schedule B Product Classification.

  • Experience with U.S. export licensing determinations under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). 

  • Experience to support Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) and Census for export shipping, standard and routed export transactions.

  • Knowledge in import customs clearance and PGAs requirements. 

  • Assists the Regional Trade Compliance Manager with external audits (i.e., government agencies and 3rd parties).

  • Performs periodic internal import/export audits to ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements.

  • Assists with investigations in areas of non-compliance and the execution of corrective actions to ensure compliance.

  • Develops and delivers compliance training as required to various groups within the company, to include senior leadership. 

  • Ensures U.S. export-import recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.

  • Acts as a liaison with the respective trade compliance regulatory agencies, as applicable.

  • Represents StandardAero within the trade community (seminars, conventions, etc).


 Position Requirements:               



  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to completion of a university (bachelor) program in a specialized field of study and work.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an import/export environment

  • Strong knowledge of ITAR, EAR and FTR regulation

  • Experience with U.S. export licensing platforms (SNAP-R and DECCS)

  • Experience with Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings via the ACE Secure Data Portal

  • Willing to travel (25%) domestic and international.

  • Licensed customs broker, CES/CUSECO designations or equivalent preferred but not required
