Job Summary

The qualified candidate is a team player who can work within the Nordson M&CS Division as well as the Nordson Corporate Global Trade Compliance Team and serves as a liaison for Measurement and Control Solutions, pertaining to Imports and Exports

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject expert in terms of Import Regulations for the Nordson M&CS Division
  • Broad knowledge of U.S. import procedures; Provide training concerning import regulations
  • Familiarity with countries (where Nordson currently has operations and business transactions) pertaining to imports
  • Make export licensing determinations and assist in the preparation of export licenses
  • Understanding U.S. FTA’s qualifications and requirements therein.
  • Support Global Operations for goods qualification process for country specific FTA’s
  • Capable of understanding and deciphering U.S. Customs entry procedures utilizing government published references
  • Review and disseminate Corporate Import Manual within the Nordson M&CS Division
  • Assigned projects to support Global Trade Compliance activities
  • Support U.S. and Global Operations pertaining to Customs audits or inquiries
  • Review internal import audits and provide guidance to Global Trade Compliance Auditor
  • Analyze contractual and other documents to ensure compliance with export control requirements and company policy, including the need to obtain export licenses.
  • Understand how to arrive at correct Country of Origin (CoO) designation and CoO markings  
  • Maintain and create the business system HTS classifications
  • Assures that export screening takes place in accordance with requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, International Trade, or other discipline
  • Minimum 2 years experience with import regulations and processes or 2 years of experience working in a global industrial manufacturing organization.
  • Experience classifying varieties of products to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Schedule B strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must possess proven presentation skills including the ability to effectively conduct training programs
  • Proficient using ERP Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
