Overview

As a Trade Finance (TF) Sales and Structuring Originator, Leveraged Clients, you will create opportunities for all trade finance product pillars by driving engagement with the Investment Bank(IB) teams. You will co-originate transactions with the Investment Banking teams including Leveraged finance, Investment banking coverage, structured finance, and financial sponsors. You will serve as a key point of contact for the Investment Banking private side stakeholders into TF&L and vice versa and will be reporting to Head of Trade Finance and Lending, North America. As a senior transactor within TF you will be responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating and executing working capital, documentary trade and lending transactions as well as working together with product specialists in natural resource financing and structured trade and export financing. All originations will be from client relationships which are led by our Investment Bank businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the existing HY portfolio and ensure quality of portfolio is maintained while looking for avenues to grow

  • Work on preparation of sales pitches, credit memos, RFPs, and other transaction related tasks in close coordination with the support teams

  • Generate revenue from new originations as well as grow existing portfolio

  • Ensure portfolio quality is maintained and quality of deals remains well within the defined key performance indicators of the Business with zero losses

How You’ll Lead

  • Originate, structure and implement TF products within the HY segment in the US, including Standby Letters of Credit, Accounts receivables, payables financing, inventory financing, and asset based lending

  • Work closely with Investment Banking coverage and product partners. Develop relationships  with all the Investment Banking teams and get access to the high yield IB client portfolio

Skills You’ll Need

  • Experience in Trade Finance or corporate banking; strong client marketing and service skills including interpersonal communication

  • Competency in credit with a focus on sub investment grade / HY credit framework and an understanding of restructuring and bankruptcy laws in the US

  • Proficiency in legal agreements

  • Rudimentary understanding of capital markets and revolving credit facilities

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $130,000 to $275,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
