We are searching for a VP of Global Logistics and Trade Compliance as a remote position, however Fender’s HQ in Phoenix, AZ would be an ideal location. This role will be accountable for FMIC’s global international and domestic transportation, imports/exports, and trade compliance. This includes advancing a global partner strategy, managing FTZ compliance, deploying logistics SCM partners/tools, procurement and contract negotiation, as well as managing KPIs/Reporting. This role will have 5 direct reports and a team of 9 in total, globally.
Essential Functions:
- Be a global thought leader driving logistics and trade processes, technology, and people management to reach new heights – fostering an environment of growth and optimization for FMIC
- Monitor financial performance, including cost control, budget adherence, and margin impact.
- Build strong relationships with external partners (suppliers, carriers, regulatory authorities, customs brokers, technology, manufacturing, customers) as well as internal customers (sales, finance, planning, IT, etc).
- Maintains a high level of transparency and provides excellent communication to all stakeholders through the effective use of oral, written, and non-verbal communication.
- Ensure the team is monitoring and analyzing logistics and trade performance metrics and filings timely. Audit performance and controls regularly and identify areas for improvement and/or corrective actions.
- Oversee the selection and management of service providers including freight forwarders, carriers, brokerage and some 3PL services.
- The role will manage the indirect procurement of this department: vetting contracts, collaborating with FMIC legal and vendor commercial teams to finalize all contractual T&Cs, rate structures, and is accountable for realizing the contractual agreements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in global logistics, regulatory requirements and supply chain management.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to manage trade compliance risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
- Create a logistics and trade technology roadmap for visibility, reporting, database management, auditing tools and KPIs.
- Maintain FTZ operational compliance and support global fulfillment network roadmap for FTZ
- Ensure compliance with all applicable international trade laws and regulations, including export control, import regulations, sanctions, and customs requirements.
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters, including classification, valuation, licensing, and documentation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in global logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing complex international logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Proficiency in estimating and managing P&L/Expense Budgets

If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $160,000-$280,000 per year.
